Some random numerology-related trivia... 1982, 1992 and 2002 were all epic races... Are we up for a real threat in 2012 too?
E: NBC Sports Network stream for Carb Day anyone, please? Starting in 2 hours or so, with live IndyCar practice, Freedom 100 race, pit-stop competition, etc.

Reason : Aparently the whole thing is on NBC Sports Network and not on NBC Sports. My bad
Indy is not a proper oval... It is more like an awesomely fast road course, with 4 slightly banked, scary left corners... In which head says "lift", and heart says "flat"... A bit like a track with 4 "Eau Rouges" in succession, if you prefer... Not for the faint hearted
Just for the record, Simona was only 5,6% off Briscoe's speed in quali. And she might have not given 100% since they were pretty sure to end up 32nd whatever happen - not worth writing off a 2nd chassis in 2 years in those conditions.
So, being within the 105% during the race isn't as hopeless as some think.
It would be a shame if they get blag flagged, with the heat and the doubts on DW12 reliability, they could perhaps pick up a top 15 just by staying on the road.
Nevertheless I think they are speaking the truth in that case. It just doesn't make much sence to rush Bottas in the hot seat right now. But the speculations remain open for 2013.
Kinda funny when you think he's the brand's "ambassador".
One of the popular theories is that he's lobbying in order to be allowed to run qualifying boost in the race.
But whatever happens on that front, Lotus' IndyCar future doesn't look very bright.
Considering that there has been only 1 engine blown so far, it'll be interresting to see if any Chevy/Honda team ends putting back-up engines in T-cars on Sunday, with Vitor/Howard/Pippa at the wheel, and bump the poor Lotii out.
